Poll Closed: Split Decision on Renney
About one month ago, we started the poll on the side about whether Tom Renney deserves to keep his job. And it is somewhat surprising that the results show about a 60/40 ratio of fans wanting to keep him around. I guess the people that want him gone (us Nick and I included) are the more vocal.
It’s no surprise that we here Nick and I want him gone. It is simply time for a change. If the Rangers fail to get past the second round again this year, then the minority might just get what it wants.
The question is, who do you want to replace him?

Fine fine. I changed it.
Really? He’s like Joe Torre, no real fire, and doesn’t seem to have them motivated anymore. I hear Tortorella is available.

His team plays hard and for the most part they’re very responsible defensively. It’s not Renney’s fault that no one is finishing Gomez’s set ups or that Wade Redden & Mike Rozsival are a giant wastes of cap space.

But it is his fault (and Pearns’) that the PP is awful and that they have lapses.
If you don’t have the personnel to run a particular system, you don’t run that system.
