Who Made This Schedule?
The NHL schedulers have a tough job. They really do. They have to take into account a lot of things before schedules are made. Just an example, for the Rangers they have to check with the Knicks to see when their home games are, and they have to check with MSG to check if there are any pre-existing event commitments.
That said, the person who made this upcoming stretch of games for the Rangers must have been on crack, or was a Devils fan.
2/11 vs. Washington
2/13 @ Florida
2/15 vs. Philly
2/16 @ St. Louis
2/18 vs. Isles
2/21 @ Buffalo
2/22 vs. Toronto
2/25 @ Toronto
2/26 vs. Florida
That’s an awful lot of traveling in the next two weeks, with some terrible planning. You’re telling me they couldn’t swap the Philly/Florida games? They go from NY to Miami to NY to St. Louis in a 5 day span.
Swap the Toronto/Florida games? They go from NY to Buffalo to NY to Toronto to NY in 5 days. This one isn’t as bad as the first trip, but that’s still a lot of miles.
This kind of makes you feel bad for Vancouver.

Let’s start small, a win and a good showing vs. Florida will suffice for now. Let’s see if they can follow up last night’s win with another tomorrow.
