Don’t Expect a Major Shakeup

There are a lot of ill-advised rumors going around that Gomez will be traded, that Drury will be traded, that Rozsival will be traded, etc. Basically, there are a ton of stupid rumors that you really shouldn’t even really bother worrying yourself about.

None of the big contract guys are going to get traded. It’s not happening. So, with those contracts and the current cap situation, any deal Sather makes will be a minor deal. Maybe Avery, but Torts hates him, so I doubt it. Plus, I don’t want his $2 million for another 3 years.

Moral of the story, don’t bother listening to Eklund or HTR. Stick to The Fourth Period and Spector’s Hockey.

Update 10:10am: Just to clarify, I say I doubt Avery coming to NY from a common sense standpoint. But when has Sather shown any restraint to get the player he wants?

I am also going on the record, that I agree with Carp. The Rangers should not be buyers. They stand no chance in a 7 game series against Boston, Washington, or NJ.
