Game 74: Rangers vs. Minnesota

With the Rangers magic number sitting at 15, every point is big. They will need to win tonight to right the ship after Sunday’s loss to Ottawa. The Wild are playing .500 of late, going 4-4-3 in March. They are a low scoring team, with just 2.47 G/G. The Rangers, under Torts, are averaging 2.91 G/G (talking about a drastic improvement). If the Rangers can play with the intensity we saw in pretty much every game since Torts took over (hoping that the Ottawa game is the exception, not the ruel), then they should win this game.

According to Zipay, the lines are:

Avery-Gomez-Callahan
Naslund-Drury-Antropov
Sjostrom-Dubinsky-Zherdev
Korpikoski-Betts-Orr

Sauer will be paired with Mara, the rest of the defense stays the same. Hank in net.

I won’t be live blogging the game tonight, mostly because I’ll be at the game. Section 408 is slowly becoming a favorite of mine (thank you for the recommendation Stas). It’s a busy time for the Mike, Stas, and myself, so it’s been tough to live blog the games. I promise we will do as many as we can as the push for the playoffs approach.
