Dubinsky Lowers Asking Price

Day seven of the holdout brings some news, as Brandon Dubinsky has lowered his asking price from one-year $1.4 million to one-year $1.1 million, or two-years $2.15 million. For a player with absolutely no leverage whatsoever, Dubinsky sure is playing this like someone who has a lot of leverage. His agent, Kurt Overhardt, should recognize that there is no leverage in this situation, and that Dubinsky should be patient, rack up his 80+ points while playing with Marian Gaborik (supposedly), and wait until next year for his pay day.

love dubi but he is simply being an idiot

This is really souring (wordd?) my view on Dubi. We can blame the agent all we want, but at a certain point it comes down to this: The agent works for the player.

And if Dubi really wanted to be in camp, he’d take the 582, or whatever it is, and get his ass in camp.

The blame now falls on both camps. Dubinsky should have lowered his offer a while ago, but $1 million is fair value, especially considering the cap room. Sather is just squeezing him at this point.

Dubi and I are in a fight – he is just being stupid now. He needs to grow up (and apparently a new agent too)

They really need to get this done ASAP. He’s already way behind in camp, and isn’t going to have much time to get in “game shape.”
