Game 13: Rangers at (sort of) Islanders

Tonight, our beloved Blueshirt are on Long Island to take on the Kansas City New York Islanders. This is essentially another home game for the Rangers, as they have been outdrawing the Islanders at the Coliseum for years now. As discussed below, Marian Gaborik is out for the Rangers tonight, and P.A. Parenteau is skating in his place. There will be line shuffling a-plenty again tonight (probably) because of Gaborik sitting.

As for the Islanders, well, they are the Islanders. Shoot early and often.

Game time is 7pm. Use this as your open thread for the night. We’ve had a few games in a row with some great discussions going, so let’s keep it up.

Good for Parenteau, first NHL goal. Nice move too. Islanders are a hardworking team. They are tough to beat. Not enough talent, though. But, they are in the right direction.

    get in PA!
agreed Jeremy… Islanders are very tough. they work hard but lack skill. Alot.

Tavares and Taylor Hall will be dangerous together though lol

whats quite funny is that even though he scored, even though nhl.xom have given DUisnky and Higgins +1′s they havent even got PA on the roster list! so no one has scored for us even though its 1-1…. thats the respect an AHLer gets! lol

Versus contacted me and wants me to advertise for them on this blog.

It’s very cleverly written too, I had to read it twice to realize that all it would be is a free advertisement for Versus.

    Jeremy Reply:

Look at that, Versus wants to be on BSB! Even though it’s a free advertisment for them, still pretty cool. Congrats!

    Dave Reply:

I don’t know if I want to do it. It is legitimately just an advertisement for Versus.

    Jordan Reply:

Absolutely not. Advertisements cost money. And Versus has money (sort of). Nothing in this world is free and a terrible cable network should know that.

    Jordan Reply:

If they want to pull a YES/RAB thing where BSB is advertised on Versus, thats a different story.

i hope you made your conditions that they change the entire broadcasting crew and provided u with a free season tckt!

    Dave Reply:

Jordan, if I can get some sort of partnership with Versus the way RAB has with YES, then I’ll definitely do it, but I don’t think that’s what they were looking for.

Terrible kill. No help for Hank. Who was there to clear the rebound? Girardi completely swung and missed.

    Sit Higgins.

I wonder what they should do with Girardi when Sanguinetti gets called up.

Interesting. I had Higgins penciled in for 25 goals. I’d be happy with 10 at this point. Think they’ll try and trade Higgins?

  • By Dave, October 28, 2009 @ 8:58 pm

Higgins has no value at this point. You have to ride it out. I doubt he will be resigned next year though.

Good thing the trade was Gomez for Gaborik :) As for, Girardi/Sangs, that’s another interesting debate to have. I’m a fan of Danny G, and you can’t bench Rosival. I would see what Sangs has at this level. Not sure if he becomes permanent starter

I’m on the record saying Girardi is expendable, and his play this year has only proved my point. He has been slipping since the second half of last year, but was overshadowed by the albatross twins.
