Game 18: Rangers At Flames
Tonight, our beloved Blueshirts head to Calgary to take on Jarome Iginla and the Flames. Lundqvist is out with a “stiff” upper thigh/groin. Valliquette will start for the second straight game. Probably no Brashear, and similar lines to the Edmonton game.
Another interesting subplot is the Sean Avery/Dion Phanuef battle. If you recall, it was Phanuef that Avery was talking about when he made his “sloppy seconds” remark that got him banished from the NHL. Here’s what Iginla had to say about it:
“It’s a while ago and Avery paid a price, he was out for a while. But I’m sure if Dion gets a chance to run him over—he’d probably run him over anyway—I’m sure he’ll finish it and probably vice versa, that’s the way they play. I think besides that, it’s just… battle and compete in the hockey game, I don’t think it’s going to be any more than that.”
Phanuef is a BIG hitter. Don’t be surprised to see a lot of extra curricular activites tonight.
Game time is 10. Watch, discuss, have fun. We’re starting to get some more comments on the games (Although nowhere near the 80 or so in the Toronto game). I’d like to see some great discussion tonight. So, let’s do it!
