Game 28: Rangers At Sabres

After seemingly an eternity, the Rangers are back on the ice, this time with a couple of new faces.

OPPONENT: Sabres

RECORD: 16-7-2

LEADING SCORER: Derek Roy and Tim Connolly, both with 21 points

GOALIE: Ryan Miller, with a sparkling 1.84 GAA and an incredible .940 save percentage

RANGERS LINES:

Vinny Prospal-Artem Anisimov-Marian Gaborik
Sean Avery-Chris Drury-Ryan Callahan
Christopher Higgins-Erik Christensen-Ales Kotalik
Enver Lisin-Brian Boyle-P.A. Parenteau
Marc Staal-Michal Rozsival
Michael Del Zotto-Dan Girardi
Ilkka Heikkinen-Matt Gilroy

Lundqvist is goal.

STATE OF THE BLUESHIRTS: In flux. After a couple of changes, management did as much as it could to shake the team up. Will it work? I don’t know. We’ll get a chance to see Anisimov on the first line. We’ll see Kotalik on the PP again. We’ll have to see how Heikkinen does. A lot of questions. Not a lot of answers. This game will answer a lot.

CRAZY THOUGHT: Christensen scores in his first game.

FINAL PREDICTION: Rangers 3, Sabres 2

Watch, discuss, have fun. Most of all LET’S GO RANGERS!!!!

Any reason why the Sabres sing O Canada in addition to the national anthem?

    becky Reply:

My friend in Buffalo says “we are about 2 seconds from Canada” .. not a solid explanation at all.

Chris higgins with a goal. Let’s all buy lotto tickets. Gabby and anisimov with assists. 1-0 rangers

    NYRJurgen88 Reply:

i said Higgins would score! now lets play solid hockey and build on this

    Jeremy Reply:

You did. Def buy a lotto ticket

    NYRJurgen88 Reply:

how have we played so far? other than stats i know very little from tonight. They skating hard? hows the forecheck??

    Jeremy Reply:

Pretty even. Both teams getting chances. Skating hard. Hitting. Playing well

    NYRJurgen88 Reply:

lets hope we can do it for a full game for once. Hopefully Anisimov prospers in the 1st line role. And i’d love to see Cally wake up

It’s absurd how much this team misses Wade Redden. Who would have thought?

    Jeremy Reply:

Can’t put my finger on it. Then again we thought Scott Gomez would be a star so anything can happen

    NYRJurgen88 Reply:

im glad its that way. it means hes actually of value to the Rangers! Im hoping his sustained solid play will help him get involved offensively

I saw the last two minutes of the game. From what I saw, Hank looked sharp all game.
