Game 58: Rangers vs Devils
Our beloved Blueshirts take on a familiar foe with a new twist, tonight at the Garden.
OPPONENT: Devils
RECORD: 36-18-2
LEADING SCORER: Zach Parise 25-32-57
GOALIE: Martin Brodeur, 2.24 GAA and a .920 save percentage
RANGERS LINES:
Vinny Prospal-Erik Christensen-Marian Gaborik
Brandon Dubinsky-Olli Jokinen-Ryan Callahan
Sean Avery-Artem Anisimov-Enver Lisin
Brandon Prust-Chris Drury-Brian Boyle
Hank in net
STATE OF THE RANGERS: Weird. They score 5 goals against the Caps and lose. The Rangers aren’t going to score 5 goals very often. They needed to win. Maybe Lundqvist is looking ahead to the Olympics. I don’t know. Of course, this team is so up and down that that loss was kind of expected. They take on the Devils, who have a new shiny toy in Ilya Kovalchuk. Teaming him with Parise will be tough to beat. Rangers will need to score tonight to win. Can they? Who the hell knows
CRAZY THOUGHT: Lisin scores
ON THE iPOD: Better, by Ernie Halter
FINAL PREDICTION: Devils 2, Rangers 1
So, watch, discuss, have fun. LET’S GO RANGERS!!!
