Florida Will Sell
Add another team to the sellers list. With the Jordan Leopold deal, Florida General Manager Randy Sexton has unofficially named the Panthers as sellers this year. The only other UFA on the Florida roster is defenseman Denis Seidenberg, who will most certainly be traded before the deadline. Other players have popped up in pipe-dream scenarios (Nathan Horton), but I don’t see the Panthers moving someone like Horton, or David Booth.
Seidenberg would have been nice at the beginning of the year, but he doesn’t fill a hole on the current Rangers roster. I don’t see the Panthers as a good trading partner for the Rangers.

I actually disagree with Florida not being good trading partners. Florida management wants a major shakeup and they seemed to imply that it might not even stop at the core youth. If we dangle Dubi in a deal for Horton, ya never know.

There is absolutely no way Nathan Horton gets traded. Florida fans would mutiny.

I would think they’d be more inclined to move Weiss, as he’ll be a little easier on their trading partner’s cap and a less-rounded player than Horton.
