Rangers Fans Get the Shaft
Joe Fortunato of Blueshirt Banter has a rather disturbing experience about how the organization treats its fans. Some of this shouldn’t surprise us, but the level of apathy towards the fan base from upper management is alarming. The one thing that got me is this:
But while I was working the masses with The Mouth my father had walked across the street to view from outside the barricades. As he was watching an MSG executive walked out to smoke a cigarette. He lit up, looked at my father and commented: “look at these idiots, making a scene out there. They actually think they are going to change something.”
You can read the rest of this disturbing revelation at Blueshirt Banter.

Sadly, the MSG executive guy is 100% right.

Does this come as any surprise?

Nope, but the fact that they were that careless when discussing it is alarming.

As an Islander fan I love the way Glenn Sather runs the Rangers.
I was surprised that Ranger fans had that rally, they are more stupid then I ever thought. It’s all about the bucks and the Rangers still make money whether you show up or not, the Rangers aren’t about winning, they are about playing in NYC.

a) And not that I care, and it’s cool that you’re here, but why’s a Isles fan reading a ranger blog? It would be like me reading a Met blog.
b) Yes, they are a business, and they want to make money, but if they go down the road the Knicks did, they will start to see lots of empty seats in the Garden…and that, is not a good thing for the bottom line.

Nothing wrong with reading the opposition’s blogs, I read Chris Botta regularly.

a) Sather > Milbury.
b) When coming to a Rangers blog, calling Rangers fans stupid isn’t exactly the smart thing to do. Please try and make intelligent responses, or I will be forced to laugh when the Islanders move to KC.
Thanks,
Dave
