Frolov To Sign with Rangers
As per Laurie Carr, who does a great job breaking news via Russian sources, the Rangers will sign Alex Frolov to a one year deal. Frolov, who had a lucrative four year deal on the table from the KHL, has chosen the Rangers in lieu of bolting to Russia.

For one year, not a bad deal. Rangers need scoring somewhere besides Gaborik this year. And this move doesn’t screw their cap, where they need to sign Dubinsky, Callahan, and Anisimov next year

if they truly have got him on a 1 year deal thats outstanding and kudos to Frolov too. he’d sacrifice security for the chance to find his game again in a huge market. Frolov – Dubi – Gaborik could be dynamite.

Waiting on money, obviously, but he could easily net 25+ goals. Well done, Slats

I like it. He’s not going to set the world afire, but he gives us a shooter with a history of putting the puck in the net.

I’ve heard some negative comments from fellow Rangers’ fans but I think this is just what Frolov needs and just what the Rangers need. A cheap, playoff pusher with a solid body ready to prove the NHL critics wrong about his poor performance last season. He will support Tortarella’s offensive mind with a breakout season.

I don’t know why people are reacting negatively to a one year deal. It’s one year!

anything under 3m on a 1 year deal is outstanding business. It works for both sides. If Frolov is motivated and plays well he can get a better deal next summer. if he doesnt the Rangers can walk away.
And his performance last year was sub par for him but he still scored 51 points. Thats a nice infusion of talent to this team. We lack pure skill and he really adds that.
i see no downside to this move if it really is a 1 year deal.

There goes the youth movement.
Frolic can play either wing.
So of 8 winger spots, who does this bump down?

How do you figure that? It’s a one year deal, and none of the top-six youth is ready. I don’t understand the fascination with these 3rd/4th line guys.

Oh, and Frolov is 28, not exactly what you would call “old”.

Who is Frolic?

I think that’s just a typo for Frolov.

I know, just pointing out his ignorance.

How is a typo ignorance? It’s just a typo.
