With Jeremy otherwise engaged (hope the move is going well Jeremy) I’m going to throw some of my musings at you every Thursday until Jeremy salvages this post. So here’s we go.

Why have The Hockey News got an apparent dislike for the Rangers? No props, always rated lowly and how often is there a Ranger prospect in their ‘hot list’ despite the Rangers being acknowledged with one of the better prospect pools? Come on thn!

Stepan’s points total in the AHL this year: Over 5o
Grachev’s points total in the AHL this year: Over 65
Kreider’s goal total with BC this year: Over 20
What happened to me today: I’m in Galway, Ireland right now and I have counted 3 NHL jerseys in the past hour. Rarely do you see hockey jerseys in my neck of the woods, let alone in Ireland. Who you say? Old School (!) Canucks, Sharks (must be a Nolan fan right?) and a Penguins Crosby jersey (Urgh – he gets everywhere). Come out and play Rangers fans!
Which club will be the biggest bust in the league this year? Montreal. No playoffs, they’ll miss Halak because they’ll expect too much from Price and the fall out will be big given the Habs fans blood thirst.

Final thought for the day: I am UK based and a hockey obsessive but im with IIHF president Rene Fasel and I don’t want NHL hockey based here. A division in Europe wouldn’t work, would hurt hockey globally and weaken the NHL. Don’t dilute the product. Players wouldn’t sign for Euro based teams anyway, North Americans certainly wouldn’t.

interesting… you think Kreider under? when you think he started slowly last year as a rookie at BC and yet he still hit 15 goals…
I think Kreider will have a huge year. The senior WC experience will help him so much.

Maybe I’m thinking about the pro competition being tougher?
As I mentioned yesterday, I think Price steps up and the Habs’ top four O men improve chemistry and production.
The Sens are the ones who will flop.
