Kreider returns, BC whipped – College Prospect Watch
A pair of key Rangers prospects were in college action last night on a night that saw the return of Chris Kreider to the Boston College line up. Unfortunately for Kreider his return was not a triumphant one. The perennial NCAA hockey powerhouse was badly beaten last night, 8-4 by Colorado College who received a huge night from Jaden Schwartz who notched 4 points. Kreider himself came back and managed to get an assist. The winger also had 5 shots and managed to get an even rating on an evening where Colorado dominated the special teams with three power play goals and two shorthanders.
It will now be interesting to see how quickly the Rangers get Kreider’s signature on a contract as there may be time to work the prospect into the Connecticut Whale line up for remainder of the AHL regular season. Stranger things have happened but with a few pro games under his belt could Kreider become a playoff call up for the Rangers? Other teams have worked rookies into their line up without regular season success before.
Carl Hagelin had more success last night at least from a team perspective. Michigan managed to get a 3-2 overtime win in their game against Nebraska. The game saw Michigan have to recover from a two goal deficit and won it on a goal in overtime that needed a long review. Hagelin was pointless in the game but his season is still alive as his side take on Kreider’s conquerors Colorado today. Also in action today will be Max Campbell’s upstart Western Michigan team as they take on another strong hockey program in Denver College.

I’d be very intriqued to see Kreider and Hagelin get some professional games under their belt. We may see these two plus Bourgue, Werek, Campbell and Horak all play for the Whalepack next season which bodes well for the Rangers player development.
Does anyone know if the Frozen Four games are televised and where for Cablevision subscribers?
