That’s about 2 of Richter’s lesser seasons, or his amazing one in 94…
I was surprised by that amount of SO wins but it does almost equate to 6 extra wins each season.

I didn’t think of it that way. I’m sure someone out there has the stats regarding regulation/OT win vs. SO win for the past seven years.

Just using last year as a basis, the Rangers had 47 ROW wins, compared to 51 total wins.

I do think win totals from today’s current goalies will become skewed due to the accumulation of wins via the shoot-out. It would be interesting research project to see what the average win totals were pre-shoot-outs vs post-shoot-outs. It may not factor at all, but I would guess all goalies have seen their win totals increase by at least 4-5 a year.
