Around the Farm: Kreider nets two in Whale win
Chris Kreider got on the board in a big way last night, leading the Whale to a 7-5 victory over the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. Kreider had two goals, one of which was the game winner. Matt Gilroy also netted two goals (one on the powerplay), while Chad Kolarik, Kris Newbury, and Tommy Grant netted one goal a piece.
The Whale powerplay was 1/4, while their penalty kill was just 1/2 in the victory.
Cam Talbot was peppered for 41 shots, which is one of the higher number of shots the Whale have allowed this season.
The victory gets the Whale back above .500, but just six points out of first place in the division.

Shane McColgan is out with possible concussion
Michael St. Croix was 2nd star in his game.
Went to the game. Sloppy play by the whale all around. Some of the players you expect to dominate and stand out, did not. I know the 7 goals look good, but the five they gave up were painful. Gilroy was responsible for a couple of goals against. I exepected better from some of our top prospects / players that have a chanc to make the team.
