Mashinter returned to Whale
In a bit of a surprising move, the Rangers have returned forward Brandon Mashinter to the Whale, per Dan Rosen. It’s surprising because Mashinter was just recalled yesterday. Guess that means the “Stu Bickel as a forward” experiment is still ongoing for tonight’s game at least. Unless of course Chris Kreider is good to go.

Odds are Kreider is coming back. Bickel skated as a D today, and it’s clear that management knew Mashinter was going down by then since Powe was at skate.
Well that’s a relief. At least Bickel won’t be a forward.
I think the rangers are gonna keep bickel in the lineup tonight solely to have a fighter if hes needed against the Devils….hopefully he lines up at center for the opening face off and dropping the gloves right off the bat.
We need goals and a tight defense tonight. I do not believe Bickel provides either. If he takes a penalty, he won’t see the ice again anyway.
