The Rangers dominated Pittsburgh last night, and will be looking to build on that momentum against a Columbus Blue Jackets club that has lost four straight. The matchup tonight is an intriguing one, as the Rangers and Blue Jackets have been partners in two blockbuster deals. Rick Nash came to New York for Brandon Dubinsky, Artem Anisimov, Tim Erixon (in Springfield) and a 1st round pick. A year later, Marian Gaborik was sent to Columbus for Derick Brassard, Derek Dorsett, and John Moore.
Under Todd Richards, the Blue Jackets run a 2-1-2 forecheck, but with less active defensemen. In the DZ, CBJ uses a low zone collapse in the defensive zone. On special teams, they run a 1-3-1 power play, and a box penalty kill.
