The Hartford Wolfpack have announced that forward Andrew Carroll has been demoted to the ECHL’s Greenville Road Warriors. Carroll, a forward, was re-signed by the Pack in July after playing 24 games with the Whale/Pack on a PTO last season.
This move clears roster room for some additional moves. These moves could be clearing room for the eventual return of Jesper Fast, or signing of Brodie Dupont/Shawn O’Donnell, who are currently on PTOs. My gut instinct says that this is clearing room for Fast, who will likely be sent to the AHL once Ryan Callahan returns.
The Wolfpack re-signed forward Andrew Carroll this morning to an undisclosed –likely AHL only– deal. Carroll initially signed with the Wolfpack, then the Whale, in April of last season, and played 24 games with the Whale/Pack, notching a goal and four assists. Carroll will likely be AHL depth on a team that will be comprised mostly of kids looking to impress the big club. Carroll may also bounce around in the ECHL, where he averages close to a point-per-game.
In a minor move, the Whale have signed forward Andrew Carroll to a PTO. The 27-year-old forward spent all of last season with the Hershey Bears of the AHL, putting together a line of 1-5-6 with 138 PIMs in 68 games. This year, the 6’0, 205 lb forward has played in the ECHL with Idaho, putting together a line of 12-19-31 with 45 PIMs in 36 games.
Carroll will likely add depth to the depleted Whale forwards if successful with his PTO.
